Stan Rose
My Love of  nature and art began at a very early age. I began painting in grade school, and my favorite subject to paint was landscapes that I found in scenic calendars.  In college, I studied fine arts and expanded my appreciation of art under the tutelage of reknowned print master, Dan Welden. My interest in photography came from carrying a point-n-shoot film camera on hikes and climbs in the mountains. When I moved to Northern California in 2002, I bought my first DSLR and became more serious about my hobby. I self published a book of northern California landscapes in 2005 entitled "Bigfoot Slept Here", and received favorable reviews. The same year I received an honorable mention in the Banff Mountain Photography Competition, the only amateur to win. Since then, I have received numerous awards (most recently, first prize in the Colorado State Fair) and my work has appeared in venues around the globe. I am honored to be a moderator at naturephotographers.net, the best nature photography site on the internet.

Through my photography, I hope to capture brief moments of time, and freeze them for an eternity so that we can experience that special moment and realize the great joy that life brings to us. I am passionate about preservation and conservation of our wild natural areas, and hope that my photography inspires us to take an active role in saving this great planet.

Fine arts quality prints are available in any size for any of the photos on this site. Standard sizes are 11X14 and 16X20, but many photos can be printed significantly larger. I am a big fan of plaque mounting, a modern, more economical alternative to traditional framing, and if you are interested in this mode of presentation I can work through local designers to give you a beautiful mounted piece. Please contact me with any requests.
