Prints are printed on the best glossy archival paper, which is perfect for vivid colors. I prefer to mount the prints on 3mm thick styrene board for extra stability, unless you request just the paper print (email me if you prefer it mounted or unmounted) Larger prints are mounted on masonite or sintra board. I also offer framing options, so contact me if you would like the print framed.
Prints are printed on an aluminum surface with high-gloss, vivid clear appearance. The ink is printed on the surface on a white substrate with a dye-sublimation process. The prints are thin--about 1/8 inch, so they are comparatively light, but durable, rated to last 80-100 years. The metal prints come with a simple float mount system for prints smaller than 16X24, and a metal frame with cleat for the larger print sizes. Everything comes ready to hang with hardware and even a level included.
If you can afford the extra cost, it is worth it--the material used in these prints is only used by a handful of printers and it is almost a work of art in an of itself. These are museum-quality pieces.
The prints are printed on photographic paper--high quality archival glossy paper that really makes the colors glow. It gives the pieces the appearace of being backlit. Then they are mounted on an Aluminum composite backing. So they are thicker and slightly heavier than metal prints. The surface of the print is protected by a laminated finish. The finished piece is ready-to-hang using a metal French cleat backing, which lets the print "float" off of the wall on a 3/4 inch metal mount.
My canvas prints use the latest latex-ink technology, and are hand-stretched onto a wooden frame, which can be from 1/2" to 2" thick. The textured surface can be glossy, semi-glossy or matt finish--I prefer semi-glossy. These prints are super economical and can last 100+ years with proper care.
Prints are done by a professional lab on high quality archival paper either Giclee or with a Chromira printer. Prints are custom made and personally inspected to ensure the highest accuracy and quality.
